Street Header Kit 2TR Tacoma 2005-2015

Toyota\’ latest 4-cylinder also gets attention from LC Engineering! The 2.7Liter VVTI inline 4-cylinder, known as the 2TR, has a brand-new stainless steel header. Featuring stainless steel primaries, 16 gauge .065 wall, a fully-welded 2-3/8\” O.D. steel collector outlet (Designed to fit up to a stock catalytic converter), 3/8\” collector flange, and a thick head flange that utilizes the factory air injection setup without the need for additional tubes and flanges. One of the best features of this header is that it\’ a long-tube header in a short-tube package. Most shorty header designs that you will see will vary in primary length. Our header, on the other hand, has all four primary tubes the same length. This means you get the maximum amount of power and torque out of your engine through the entire RPM range. Dyno tests showed a substantial increase in power and torque over the leading aftermarket header. To top it off  OE Toyota gaskets are provided with the kit to ensure the best possible sealing. This header bolts up to the factory mid-pipe, and is ceramic coated for long life and great looks.

Note: This header IS NOT C.A.R.B. Approved Not for street use in California.

1 review for LC Header, 2005-2015, Tacoma 2TR-FE 2.7L I4

I’ve had this LC Header, 2005-2015, Tacoma 2TR-FE 2.7L I4 installed on my 2013 Tacoma for a few weeks now, and wanted to let owners of the 2TR 4 Cylinder engine know that this is a very worthwhile upgrade. The headers look great, and have provided another boost in power beyond my initial upgrades. Add this to your engine along with the other items mentioned in my prior review (below), and you’ll be amazed at the enhancement of performance and sound! My previously sluggish vehicle is now very responsive when I hit the gas, and it accelerates quickly. It also gets better gas mileage. As a recap. my Tacoma now has the following upgrades:
Cool air intake: Volante Pro-5 sealed unit.
Less restrictive exhaust: MagnaFlow stainless steel performance system.
Performance tuner: URD MAF Sensor Calibrator.
    Throttle control: URD Sprint Booster.
Spark plugs: DENSO Iridium Power IKH20.
    Headers: LC Header, 2005-2015, Tacoma 2TR-FE 2.7L I4.
(Previously…) 2013 Tacoma 4 Cyl 2.7L Owner and pleased customer.
After getting some guidance from Gadget via phone, I ordered the URD MAF Sensor Calibrator PnP, 2005-2015 Tacoma 2.7L 2TR-FE I4, and the Sprint Booster from URD. These components were add to the recently installed (closed-box) Volant Cool Air Intake and Magnaflow 3″ stainless Cat-Back exhaust system. I then drove the truck to Owings, MD to have the (blank) MAF Sensor Calibrator tuned. Gadget hooked up sensors to monitor the engine performance and the exhaust, and connected those cables to his laptop. We took the vehicle up and down the road several times. We stopped after each run, shut the motor down, restarted it, and let the software make it’s updates. After the last run it was completed, the results since then have been dramatic!
I’ve now put a few hundred miles on the truck with this newly installed and tuned equipment, and I can say an amazing transformation has occurred. Seeing a formerly sluggish 2.7 L 4 Cyl engine now delivering such great performance was such a surprise. Before this tuning of the MAF Sensor Calibrator, the other equipment helped performance, but the truck was still somewhat sluggish in the 0-45 mph range. Now the acceleration is strong – both rapid and smooth – from zero to highway speed.
For better performance, and better gas mileage – if you keep your right foot in check – this is a winning combination. Thanks Gadget and URD for helping to optimize everything! Anyone with a sluggish 2.7 L 4 Cyl Tacoma and a modest budget should be pleased after following this same path to performance!
