This fuel pump/filter upgrade kit is for the 2007-2009 FJ Cruiser for non-US market vehicles.
FJ Cruisers shipped to markets other than North America may have a different fuel filter installation. If your FJ was purchased outside of North America, check your engine compartment for the stock fuel filter. Look on the left inner fender-wall behind the fuse box and see if you have the metal fuel filter mounted there. If so, this is the pump upgrade kit for you. It is the same as the other URD FJ pump kit, but does not include the external fuel filter.
The heart of the fuel system is the fuel pump. It must deliver the volume of fuel needed at the required pressure for the rest of the fuel system to do its job. If the pump can\’t provide more flow, don\’t expect to have the fuel needed for more power.
UNDERDOG RACING DEVELOPMENT has been making and tuning forced induction systems for the Toyota 4.0L 1GR-FE engine since 2005. One thing we observe time and time again is as the power levels go up, the fuel pressure starts to drop off. The stock in-tank fuel pump does not flow enough fuel to maintain a sufficient pressure in the fuel rail.
URD has developed a way to replace the in tank fuel pump with a high flow Walbro 255 LPH fuel pump, or the pump of your choice.
The URD 2007-2009 FJ Cruiser Pump upgrade Kit fixes the problem of insufficient flow from the stock pump.
If you have converted your FJ engine to any type of forced induction system, URD strongly recommends installing the URD fuel pump upgrade kit.
The URD fuel pump upgrade kit ships with:
- Detailed URD installation instructions
- High flow Walbro 255 LPH fuel pump and appropriate accessories or the pump of your choice
- Special in tank high pressure fuel submersible hose that is fully multi-fuel compatible that is specified to be immersed in fuel (SAE J30R10 100 PSI). Standard fuel line SHOULD NEVER BE USED IN THE FUEL TANK!!!
- All needed hardware
URD gives you the option of what fuel pump you wish to run in your pump/filter conversion kit. The default pump the kit ships with is the Walbro 255 LPH High Pressure fuel pump. We also have other pumps available. You may pick from the AEM 320 LPH pump, AEM E85 320 pump, DeatschWerks 255 or 320 LPH pump, or the AeroMotive 340 LPH pump. If you wish to run E85 the DeatschWerks pumps are fully E85 compatible. The AEM and the AeroMotive pumps can be used with E85, but the manufacturer states that you should expect reduced pump life with the E85 fuel. The standard Walbro pump is not E85 compatible.
